Australia rugby player Sam Cordingley out of Europe tour
Australian scrum-half Sam Cordingley has been forced to withdraw from his team's tour of Europe next month because of a chronic foot problem.
Australia are already without rested captain George Gregan, and Sam Cordingley, included as cover for him, has had to pull out when the problem started again whilst training.
NSW Warratahs scrum-half Josh Valentine will take his place.
Australia coach John Connolly has said Matt Giteau is likely to be the scrum-half on the tour.
Matt Giteau has become known as a centre or fly-half for the Wallabies but began his career as a scrum-half and is going to get his chance earlier than was expected after Sam Cordingley's injury.
"We had targeted him to play there later in the tour anyway but we'll probably have a look at him earlier rather than later," said John Connolly, who also said it was a possibility that Matt Giteau could play against Wales on 4 November.
