All Blacks coach Graham Henry to be replaced
All Blacks rugby coach Graham Henry would be replaced at the end of the year the New Zealand Rugby Union have announced. The news comes following the surprising All Blacks' World Cup defeat by France at the Millennium Stadium.
Graham Henry became coach of the All Blacks after the 2003 World Cup, but chairman Jock Hobbs explained: "We'll have a new All Blacks coach in place by Christmas."
Graham Henry responded to the news by saying: "There's no need for me or (wife) Raewyn to rush into what we'd like to do immediately in the future."
Because of the 20-18 defeat by France it means that for the first time the All Blacks would not take part in a World Cup semi-final.
All Blacks legendary player Colin Meads had been the first to call for Graham Henry to be sacked and he said: "History tells us if we lose the World Cup, you're history."
Colin Meads claimed that Graham Henry must be held responsible for the team's shocking defeat and he added that Graham Henry had under-prepared his squad.
