England netball team ready for Commonwealth Games
England's netball team will be looking to put down a marker for the
forthcoming Commonwealth Games when they tour rivals Jamaica in
January.
England are currently fourth in the world rankings, just behind
Jamaica, and have just finished a series whitewash over South Africa.
The teams will meet in three Test matches on 19, 20 and 22 January.
"This is the ideal preparation for us and we are expecting an exciting series," said coach Marg Caldow.
"We were pleased with our overall performances against South Africa and it was very satisfying to come home with a 3-0 victory.
"I have no doubt that the Jamaicans will want to perform well against
England after what they would have seen as disappointing form against
the Australian and New Zealand squads in their matches in November.
"They have been trying various combinations in those matches and I am
confident that they will put out their best team against us.
"I am sure it will be a closely-contested series which will bring out the best in both teams."
