Younis Khan confirmed as Pakistan cricket captain
Younis Khan has been announced as the Pakistan cricket captain for the forthcoming Champion's Trophy following the four-match ban on Inzamam-ul-Haq.
Inzamam-ul-Haq, who has been with the team since 2002, will be available for the final in India, should Pakistan qualify.
"Inzamam is our key player but we will take this as a challenge," Younis Khan said.
Younis Khan, 28, has been captain for Pakistan in two Tests and two one-day games, winning and losing one each and he said: "It is a great honour."
Pakistan were pegged back to 2-2 by England in the recent one-day series, having raced into a 2-0 lead with some impressive play.
Younis Khan, who scored a century in the day/night victory at The Rose Bowl on 5 September, is sure his team can succeed in the Champions Trophy, which comprises three group matches, a semi-final and final.
"This current team is a well-knit side," Younis Khan said, adding: "If we play to our potential, we can do well."
