West Indies Cricket Board settle players dispute
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB)'s dispute with players has been settled in time for next month's tri-series with India and Australia in Malaysia and Singapore.
WICB will be paying players $600,000 (£315,000) for four games and $300,000 (£157,500) for getting through to the final as well as also paying an additional $100,000 (£52,500) for four preliminary matches and $50,000 (£26,000) if the squad gets to the final next month.
The West Indies administrators and players pledged to work together in a joint statement.
This settlement was reached after contract negotiations threatened to turn ugly last week when the board claimed that the West Indies Players Association's salary demands were "totally unreasonable".
The WICB went ahead in approaching players individually and then named a 14-man squad.
Wicket-keeper Carlton Baugh will replace Denesh Ramdin in the squad in spite of Ramdin's impressive performance in the Test series against India.
