Steve Harmison joins England for Sri Lanka tour

harmison Cricketer Steve Harmison has been announced as part of the England Test party for the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

Steve Harmison, 29, who plays as a fast bowler, is expected in Sri Lanka on Tuesday and could take part in a warm-up match being played in Colombo on the same day.

Steve Harmison showed he has well recovered from a hernia operation by taking 13 wickets in two matches for South Africa's Highveld Lions.

Steve Harmison had been put on standby for England but now becomes the 16th member of the team.

Steve Harmison had been omitted from England's initial team put together for Sri Lanka, but the board of selectors left the situation open so that he could return to the squad if he recovered well enough in time.

The selectors reviewed Steve Harmison's health and fitness state and decided he was fit enough to join the team for the three-Test series.
