Sri Lanka coach Tom Moody moves to Western Australia
Tom Moody has given in his resignation as Sri Lanka cricket coach to move to Western Australia and take a similar job with a three-year contract, starting 1 July.
Tom Moody, 41, decided against renewing his contract with Sri Lanka and he said: "It was a very difficult decision to make given the strong relationship that has been built between Sri Lanka Cricket and myself. "
Tom Moody went on to add: "But at this stage in my life it was important that I made a bigger commitment to my family."
Tom Moody doesn't want to lose all contact with Sri Lanka and is reported to have said: "I will be more than happy to assist in whichever way I possibly can for the continuous success of Sri Lanka Cricket."
Tom Moody had been in charge of Sri Lanka for two years and it had been noted that the performance of the team had improved under his guidance.
Trevor Penney, who worked with Tom Moody as an assistant cricket coach at Sri Lanka, will also be transferring to Western Australia.
