South African cricketer Shaun Pollock joins Durham
South African cricketer Shaun Pollock is joining Durham County to play in their 2008 Twenty20 Cup bid.
Shaun Pollock, 34, had announced his retirement from international cricket and first-class cricket in South Africa earlier on this year after a career spanning over 100 Test and 300 one-day appearances.
Because of this Pollock can join as a Kolpak signing and play alongside compatriot Albie Morkel in the Twenty20 contest.
Shaun Pollock joins Durham County in June after playing for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and he is looking forward to the new team.
"When I got the offer from Durham I really jumped at the chance to get on board, they are determined to do well in the Twenty20 Cup and I want to contribute to that success. They proved themselves to be a force in the four-day and one-day game last year and I'm keen to help them replicate that success in the Twenty20 Cup," Shaun Pollock said.
