South Africa cricket vice-captain Jacques Kallis resigns
South Africa cricket vice-captain Jacques Kallis has announced his resignation and is now considering his future career after being omitted from their World Twenty20 team.
Cricket selectors had claimed that Jacques Kallis was being rested for the tournament, on home soil in September, but his slow batting had been a big concern during the World Cup.
Jacques Kallis, 31, said: "There is a lot of emotion involved because I am extremely disappointed.
"I was very excited about the tournament and hoping to make a huge contribution."
Jacques Kallis, who has played 107 Tests and 261 one-day internationals in his past career, has been speculated over with regard to a move to English county cricket.
Jacques Kallis went on to add: "I feel I have a lot of good cricket left and my best years might even be ahead of me,"
"Ideally I would like to play many more years for my country but this weekend caused me to question my future for the first time."
