South Africa cricket team continue Pakistan tour despite bombing
South Africa cricket team have decided to carry on with their Pakistan tour in spite of the bombing in Karachi, which killed 130 people on Thursday.
Brian Basson, a spokesman for South Africa, said the Pakistan Cricket Board and security forces had promised their safety.
Brian Basson explained: "The PCB held a high level meeting with the security authorities and Home Secretary,
"They assured us of the squad's safety and that security around the team will remain at the highest level."
The South Africa team are in Lahore at present, but were troubled enough by the bombings, linked to the return to the country of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, to call a meeting over the matter.
The South African cricketers have been protected by uniformed and plain clothes police as well as commandoes acting as guards since arriving in Pakistan in September.
