Police now say that cricket coach Bob Woolmer was murdered
After reports had suggested that Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer had possibly died from a heart attack following stress and breathing complaints, and further news that the post-mortem was inconclusive, it has now been revealed by Jamaican police that he was murdered.
The final results of the post-mortem examination established that Bob Woolmer had died as a result of "manual strangulation", Jamaica police commissioner Lucius Thomas said, and he added that: "In these circumstances, the matter of Mr Woolmer's death is now being treated as murder."
Cricket veteran Bob Woolmer, 58, had been found unconscious in his room at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica, on Sunday morning and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The police think that Bob Woolmer may have known his killer or killers and this is suggested because there were no signs of forced entry into his room and nothing had been taken.
The deputy commissioner of the Jamaican police, Mark Shields urged the murderer or murderers to hand themselves in.
