Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Asif has elbow injury
Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Asif is being forced to miss this month's one-day series in India because he is suffering from an elbow injury.
And Mohammad Asif already missed four of the five one-day matches against South Africa last month because of the same problem, which hasn't healed up yet.
Pakistan cricket board's Shafqat Naghmi is reported to have explained the problem as follows: "Asif is not 100% fit and needs some more time to fully recover.
"It's a rare injury that doesn't need surgery or can be treated by medicine - he needs to exercise and strengthen the muscles around his elbow to recover."
So far no replacement player has been named for the series, which starts in Guwahati on 5 November.
Shafqat Naghmi was unable to say if Mohammad Asif would be well enough in time for the three-match Test series that starts on 22 November in Delhi.
