Pakistan cricket team players return to their country
The Pakistan cricket team are reported to be returning to their home country after the murder of coach Bob Woolmer and Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf, have already arrived in the city of Karachi.
Veteran cricket coach Bob Woolmer had been found unconscious in his hotel room after Pakistan's surprising World Cup defeat to Ireland on 17 March and it has emerged that he had been murdered by strangling. Jamaican police questioned all the Pakistan team members about Bob Woolmer's death.
Most of the returning Pakistan team are expected back on Tuesday, although others could arrive later on Wednesday, a Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman explained.
The spokesman said: "Some players will come to Karachi, while some will reach Lahore."
It has been speculated that Bob Woolmer's murder is connected to match-fixing allegations, which have given the sport of cricket a lot of bad press and several Pakistan cricketers were fined and banned from the game after being found guilty of the offence in the late 1990s.
