Pakistan cricket team mourn the death of Wasim Raja in London
Pakistan cricket team is mourning the death of former Test all-rounder Wasim Raja who died aged 54 from a fatal heart attack while playing in a club game in London.
Wasim Raja played 57 Tests and 54 one-day games between 1973 and 1985 and later on he served as a match referee for the International Cricket Council.
Wasim Raja had settled in London after marrying an Englishwoman and for a while had taught geography and physical education at a Surrey school.
Wasim Raja's death comes in the middle of a very bad week for Pakistan cricket after the loss of the fourth Test by forfeit because the umpires ruled them guilty of ball tampering at The Oval.
During Wasim Raja's playing career he was known mainly as a dashing middle order batsman, although he was a good enough leg-spinner to take 51 wickets in Tests.
Wasim Raja's younger brother Rameez also represented Pakistan and is currently in England covering the current tour as part of the Sky TV commentary team.
