Mohammad Asif for Pakistan cricket squad
Mohammad Asif has been chosen to be part of a 16-man cricket squad for a three-match series with Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi this month.
Mohammad Asif, 24, was cleared of a doping ban last year but he nevertheless had to miss the World Cup due to an elbow injury. Mohammad Asif had been banned along with Shoaib Akhtar for nandrolone offences last autumn.
Mohammad Asif has not played for Pakistan since he took 1-21 in the final one-day match in South Africa in February.
Abdul Razzaq, who was also been away from sport due to knee trouble, has recovered and is fit to play again, and batsman Salman Butt is also up for recall.
But Pakistan, still haven't decided on a replacement for the late Bob Woolmer as coach, but the team will be led by Shoaib Malik, who has been appointed as captain for this year.
And Shoaib Malik, 25, replaced Inzamam-ul-Haq, who announced his retirement after the World Cup campaign.
