Michael Vaughan says Andrew Flintoff to take over as skipper
England's Michael Vaughan has announced that Andrew Flintoff will be his replacement as skipper for the team during the forthcoming Cricket World Cup if he cannot take part due to injury.
Andrew Flintoff MBE, who has been nicknamed "Freddie" and who was born in Preston, Lancashire, has been English national cricket captain before and is regarded as one of the best cricketers around.
However, Michael Vaughan hasn't given up all hopes just yet and is hoping to play a full part in England's current campaign, starting with the match in St Lucia against New Zealand. Michael Vaughan and the other 14 players in England's cricket team fly out to the Caribbean on Friday.
Michael Vaughan has been suffering from a hamstring problem and needs to recover from this fully.
Michael Vaughan has played in only three of England's last 35 one-day internationals, and hardly took part in the Commonwealth Bank Series in Australia and it remains to be seen how things will turn out for him.
