Marlon Samuels picked for West Indies World Cup team
Cricketer Marlon Samuels has been selected to be part of the West Indies World Cup squad, although he has been the subject of an investigation into being involved with an Indian bookmaker.
Kingston-born Marlon Samuels, 26, allegedly had provided information about the team's batting order and this is being looked into.
The West Indies start the tournament by playing against Pakistan in Jamaica on 13 March.
Marlon Samuels is primarily a batsman but he has also showed his skills as a bowler and has put on an impressive performance in recent matches for the West Indies.
However, Marlon Samuels risks being banned at some stage if the International Cricket Council (ICC) finds any wrongdoing proven in the current investigation. If that happens then the West Indies Cricket Board would have to ask the ICC's technical committee for a replacement player.
