Injured England bowler James Anderson returns home
England fast bowler James Anderson is going home early from the tour to Australia due to a back injury.
Born in Burnley, Lancashire, James Anderson's career has been beset with problems of which this is the latest and his management have ordered him to rest.
James Anderson was away from sport for several months last year after suffering a stress fracture in his back, however, his managers remain confident he will be recovered and fit for the World Cup, which begins in the Caribbean in mid-March.
An England cricket spokesman said James Anderson's return home was a "precautionary" measure.
James Anderson has definitely proved his worth in the past and currently heads the England bowling averages for the triangular one-day series in Australia.
James Anderson had to withdraw from the last two games because of soreness in his back and the decision to send him home is nevertheless seen as a major blow to England's chances.
