India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar injured
India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has injured his right ankle whilst practising for the tour of Bangladesh but Surendra Bhave, administrative manager for the squad, said: "The injury does not appear to be serious."
However, Sachin Tendulkar was treated with ice and may have to be sent for medical tests and X-rays, according to the India team's manager.
Sachin Tendulkar, who is ambidextrous but bats, bowls and throws with his right hand, is no stranger to injury and other career problems. Sachin Tendulkar had to have surgery on his shoulder last year, which caused him to have to cancel the tour of the West Indies in 2006.
Sachin Tendulkar suffered his current injury while attempting to deal with a bouncer from fast bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth on the first day of the weeklong camp.
Sachin Tendulkar, who is only in the squad for the Test series, had to limp to the dressing-room following being treated by team physio John Gloster.
