Former South African bowler Allan Donald says cancel the World Cup
In the wake of the death of Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer, and the news that he was murdered, former South African bowler Allan Donald says the World Cup should be cancelled.
However, Malcolm Speed of the International Cricket Council (ICC) says the event will go ahead as planned but Allan Donald thinks this is wrong, and he has been reported to have said: "I just don't know how this World Cup can continue under the shadow of what's happened."
Allan Donald added: "My personal opinion would have been to stop, but knowing Bob he would have wanted this to go ahead."
Professor Tim Noakes, who had been co-authoring a book on cricket coaching with Bob Woolmer, agrees with Allan Donald that Bob Woolmer would have wanted the World Cup to continue.
Allan Donald also said that he was sickened to find out that the police were calling Bob Woolmer's death a case of murder.
