England vice-captain Andrew Flintoff apologises for drunkeness
England vice-captain Andrew Flintoff has apologised for his drunken behaviour for which he has lost his position as vice-captain and has been banned for the game against Canada.
Nicknamed "Freddie," Andrew Flintoff was disciplined after he fell off a pedalo following a late night drinking session and then ran into problems in the water, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Andrew Flintoff, 29, however, accepts the punishment he has been given and subsequently issued a statement saying: "I know what I did was completely wrong and I have to take full responsibility.
"There can be no excuses on my part. I know I shouldn't have done what I did."
Andrew Flintoff is expected to be reinstated as vice-captain for Saturday's final group match against Kenya.
Andrew Flintoff also said he wanted to make amends for his disgraceful behaviour and said: "To my team-mates and the England supporters that I let down, all I can say is that I am extremely sorry and assure everyone that I will be giving 110% for England for the rest of this tournament."
