England skipper Paul Collingwood has stomach bug
England cricket skipper Paul Collingwood was unable to take part in the final training for Thurday's one-day match against India at Old Trafford due to a stomach problem.
Paul Collingwood had stomach cramps during the night, but his team's management are still hoping he will be well enough in time to play in the day-night match.
However, if Paul Collingwood doesn't make a speedy enough recovery, then Andrew Flintoff or Kevin Pietersen could deputise.
Andrew Flintoff has had a recent injury problem himself and will have to undergo a fitness test after he was forced to pull out of Monday's win at Edgbaston due to a sore knee.
Andrew Flintoff said: "We'll just have to see how I am overnight. I'm not concerned. My knee's flared up - it's not the end of the world.
"I missed a game of cricket but I've got time to play plenty more. There's four more games in the series."
Kevin Pietersen could also be asked to take on the role as vice-captain and he said: "I just try to help out as much as I can.
"Colly likes the help - with him being involved so much in the game, he talks to me a lot and asks for my opinions."
