England skipper Paul Collingwood fined
England cricket captain Paul Collingwood has been fined 50% of his match fee, by by match referee Roshan Mahanama, for his team's slow over rate when they lost to India in Bristol.
It was the minimum allowed for the offence under International Cricket Council rules, and Paul Collingwood could have been given a two-match suspension.
The England team were three overs less than their target in the day-night match in which they were defeated by India, and the rest of the team were fined 15%.
Following the game, Paul Collingwood explained there were reasons for the prolonged innings, including trouble they had experienced with a sightscreen in the early part of the match.
Paul Collingwood said: "The nature of the innings with so many boundaries being scored and with various stoppages for one thing or another was always going to mean that the innings was going to be longer than usual."
And Sachin Tendulkar had to be treated for cramp in his left hand.
