England cricketer Paul Nixon says they need Michael Vaughan fit
England cricket team's wicket-keeper Paul Nixon has said for the side to have a good chance at the World Cup they need to have captain Michael Vaughan fit from the start.
Michael Vaughan will not play a full part in England's warm-up game on 5 March because he is gradually building himself back to full fitness after suffering a hamstring problem, which he hopes he will have fully recovered from before his side's first World Cup match against New Zealand on 16 March.
Paul Nixon explained: "We need Michael with us, that's crucial and hopefully he wil play every game and see us through.
"But with the amount of injuries he has had over the last couple of years he's going to have a little bit of doubt."
Paul Nixon also said that Michael Vaughan would not play if he was not completely fit and added: "He'll make sure he's 100% if he goes out and plays the first game."
