England cricketer Matthew Hoggard injured again
England cricketer Matthew Hoggard is now very unlikely to be available for the second Test against Sri Lanka, beginning on Sunday.
Matthew Hoggard injured his back while he was bowling on the fourth day of the first Test defeat and this led to him asking for a runner when batting on the last day.
England captain Michael Vaughan explained: "Hoggard's got a stiff back and has got to be a doubt for the next Test."
Matthew Hoggard has suffered injury problems all year, and he was forced to miss the last Ashes Test in Sydney.
Matthew Hoggard couldn't carry on in the first Test of four against the West Indies, and he only made just one more start for England last summer.
Matthew Hoggard was clearly in a lot of pain whilst playing on Wednesday and it looks as if his current injury is like the back problem he battled with in the summer.
