England cricketer Andrew Flintoff aims to be back on form
England cricketer Andrew Flintoff wants to get back to how he was when he was regarded as the leading all-rounder in world cricket.
Nicknamed "Freddie," after the Flintstones cartoon character, and born in Lancashire, Andrew Flintoff took just 11 wickets and averaged 28 with the bat in the 2006-7 Ashes series, and his performance at the World Cup was disappointing too.
Andrew Flintoff explained: "Sometimes you might need a rest but at this moment I want to get back to where I want to be in the game,
"I'm 29 and I feel my best years are in front of me but I'm going to have to work hard to prove that."
Recently, Andrew Flintoff was in the news not for ability as a cricket player but more for his behaviour in the Caribbean, including a much-publicised accident with a pedalo when he was drunk.
But Andrew Flintoff wants to put the past behind him and show what he is really capable of again, and he said: "I'm keen to show that I'm a cricketer and committed to the game."
