England cricket skipper Michael Vaughan will play in Test
England cricket skipper Michael Vaughan is going to be included in the team for the first Test against South Africa, although he has been suffering from a knee injury.
Vaughan's knee was treated with an ice-pack during Yorkshire's Championship match against Durham on Tuesday.
Yorkshire's director Martyn Moxon commented: "He's a little sore, but there's no danger of him missing out."
Moxon went on to add: "It is difficult for me to say too much, but Michael has a few aches and pains which he will speak about at the press conference later this week.
"I'm sure he will explain things more fully on Friday."
However, Michael Vaughan will not be playing in Yorkshire's Friends Provident Trophy semi-final against Essex on Saturday.
Besides the news of the selection for the Test squad, national selector Geoff Miller will announce a provisional 30-man team for the ICC Champions Trophy.
