England cricket captain Michael Vaughan is hopeful
England captain Michael Vaughan is optimistic about playing in the
second Test against Pakistan but he will make a final decision on his
injured knee on Saturday after training with the team on Friday.
Michael Vaughan, who missed the Multan defeat, said: "The knee has made good progress over the last few days.
"We will make a decision on Saturday but the last two, three days it
has gone well and I will train normally with the team on Friday."
The second Test starts in Faisalabad on Sunday with England needing to avoid defeat to keep the series alive.
Michael Vaughan, 30, has had a history of trouble with the knee joint,
and he made it worse during the warm-up game before the first Test.
He added: "It was not a decision made once the defeat had happened.
"It's not a panic station decision by the England team once we've lost to try and get the captain back.
"I decided on day three in Multan there was a chance I could play in the second Test.
"I will make a sensible decision but at this stage it looks quite good."
