Cricketer Ryan Sidebottom wants to play in Caribbean Twenty20
English cricketer Ryan Sidebottom says he approves of the $20m winner-takes-all Twenty20 match in the Caribbean between England and a West Indies all-star XI.
American business tycoon Sir Allen Stanford is expected to be funding the match and Sidebottom would like to play in it.
Ryan Sidebottom said: "The money that is being talked about - make no bones about it - is great. Everyone wants to play in it and I am no different. If there's an opportunity to play in it, then why not?"
The Twenty20 match, scheduled for next year, is under consideration by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in its bid to cut down on the potential damage to the domestic game of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The ECB originally said that contracted players would not be allowed to take part in the IPL matches, but it has recently changed its tune on this and says that if schedules allow then maybe such players will be able to take part.
