Cricketer Ottis Gibson named as coach for England
England Cricket have named Ottis Gibson as their full-time bowling coach after their one-day victory in Sri Lanka.
Ottis Gibson, 38, had been acting as coach on a temporary basis but now he has helped England to their first major series win in Asia for 20 years he has been appointed full-time coach and he said proudly: "I am delighted to be a part of the England team in a full-time capacity as bowling coach."
Ottis Gibson successfully guided seamers Ryan Sidebottom, James Anderson and Stuart Broad to keep up the standard of their playing in the 3-2 series victory in Sri Lanka.
England head coach Peter Moores was delighted to welcome Ottis Gibson to the team as bowling coach and he said: "Ottis will do a great job. He was with the performance squad last winter in Perth and did a good job over there.
"We know we're getting a good coach. He's shown over here he can have an influence over the bowlers and talk about some of the things he feels are very important to be successful."
