Cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq ready to join Yorkshire
Former Pakistan cricket captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is looking forward to joining Yorkshire as a short-term replacement for his fellow countryman Younus Khan.
Younus Khan will be unavailable because he will be on international duty for Pakistan at next month's ICC World Twenty20 cricket tournament in South Africa.
Inzamam-ul-Haq, 37, is set to deputise as skipper in three Championship games, and up to three Pro40 fixtures, providing the Pakistan Cricket Board allows the move. The cricket board of selectors have indicated that Inzamam-ul-Haq must prove his fitness and form in order to be considered for a home series against South Africa.
Inzamam-ul-Haq said: "I have accepted a short-term contract because I have never experienced playing for a county,"
"I see my stint with Yorkshire as a good opportunity to get ready for a hectic international season for Pakistan."
Inzamam-ul-Haq resigned as Pakistan captain and quit one-day internationals after the World Cup in the Caribbean earlier this year.
