Cricketer Andrew Flintoff aims to return this weekend

flintoff Cricketer Andrew Flintoff aims to make a comeback to the field of action this weekend on Sunday following not being able to play earlier in the week due to the weather.

Andrew Flintoff, 29, who had wanted to return in Lancashire's abandoned 2nd XI match against Derbyshire, is in the county team who will play against Sri Lanka A.

Andrew Flintoff has been away from sport since May following a third ankle operation, but he will now take part as a batsman only in the one-day match.

Andrew Flintoff will not be bowling in competitive cricket until his team are confident his ankle is strong enough again.

Andrew Flintoff is keen to play again and hopes for an England recall for him to take part in at least part of the one-day international series against India, which begins on 21 August.
