Cricket coach Bob Woolmer poisoned as well as strangled
Tests have shown that Bob Woolmer, who was the Pakistan cricket coach, and who died of strangulation in March, was poisoned as well, a report reveals.
Bob Woomer had been found dead in his Kingston hotel in Jamaica on 18 March, the day after his side was defeated by Ireland in the World Cup.
A post-mortem examination of his body showed that Bob Woolmer had been strangled but now a BBC Panorama investigation has discovered that a toxicology report revealed that a drug had incapacitated him. The final results of the report into the causes of Bob Woolmer's death are expected to be delivered to Jamaican police next week.
Bob Woolmer's remains in a casket were flown back from Jamaica to his home in Cape Town, South Africa, on Sunday.
Woolmer family spokesman Gareth Pyne-James explained to the press that Bob Woolmer's funeral in South Africa was going to be a private ceremony.
