Chandu Borde to be manager of India in Ireland and England
Chandu Borde has been named as the manager of the India cricket team when they tour Ireland and England, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will carry on looking for a new full-time coach while he does so.
Chandu Borde, 72, who played 55 Tests and was once chief selector, will be taking over from Ravi Shastri, who has said is now unable to perform this role any longer.
India's first match on the forthcoming tour is a one-day game against Ireland in Belfast on 23 June.
Veteran cricketer Chandu Borde is breaking his retirement to do the job he carried out on a tour of Pakistan in 1989-90.
Chandu Borde will be working along with two other former players, Venkatesh Prasad and Robin Singh, who will be the bowling and fielding coaches and have been given new one-year contracts.
