Bowler Matthew Hoggard hopes to play again for England
Matthew Hoggard is optimistic about being able to play for England in the fourth West Indies Test on Friday after he successfully bowled 10 "pain free" overs for Yorkshire.
Matthew Hoggard, 30, was playing his first match after recovering from a groin injury, which he sustained in the first Test on 19 May.
Matthew Hoggard had taken 1-55 as Yorkshire managed an unlikely win against Northampton in the Friends Provident Trophy match at Headingley.
Matthew Hoggard said: "The only issue is going into a Test without much match practice," and he added: "It was a good work-out and nice to get three spells, stopping and starting and making sure I could carry on."
With Liam Plunkett dropped from the England team, James Anderson would make his first appearance of the summer if Matthew Hoggard isn't declared fit enough for the role.
