Backroom cricket crew Kevin Shine and Jeremy Snape penalised
Following a meeting with Fletcher and Hugh Morris of the England and Wales Cricket Board, Kevin Shine and Jeremy Snape of England cricket's backroom crew have been penalised for taking no action over a late night drinking session in St Lucia that involved several of the key players.
Vice-captain Andrew Flintoff and players Ian Bell, Liam Plunkett, Paul Nixon, Jon Lewis and James Anderson have already been fined for staying out until the early hours of Saturday morning following the team's defeat by New Zealand. Andrew Flintoff has lost his position as vice-captain following his drunken behaviour, which caused him to fall off a pedalo and get into trouble in the water.
Kevin Shine, who coaches bowling, and spin expert Jeremy Snape are donating money to charity.
Jeremy Snape, who had been hired to help the team to prepare mentally, has a sports psychology degree but his short-term contract is due to expire this weekend after England play against Kenya.
England cricket team hope that disciplining Kevin Shine and Jeremy Snape over this matter will be an example and will resolve the problem.
