Australian cricketer Shane Watson is recalled
Australian cricketer Shane Watson has been recalled for the finals of the triangular one-day series.
This is great news for Ipswich-born Shane Watson, who has had a career marred over and over again by injuries. Shane Watson had been tipped as a key player in both the Ashes and tri-series due to his skills as a batsman and as a bowler, however, a hamstring problem had threatened his current availability.
Luckily for Shane Watson he has been able to prove his fitness in domestic cricket as well as being given full medical clearance, and chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch suggested that Shane Watson could be back for an extended time as long as he stays fit enough.
"Shane has been given a full medical clearance and has successfully returned to domestic cricket.
"We feel the time is now right for him to return to international cricket.
"He adds a great balance to the Australian one-day side and was an important member of the victorious Australian side at the Champions Trophy," Andrew Hilditch said.
