Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath bows out
Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath says he is retiring from his career in international cricket with no regrets.
Glenn McGrath, 37, has retired while still at the top with Australia winning their third consecutive World Cup, in which Glenn McGrath was star of the game taking 22 wickets.
Thousands of cheering fans in Sydney on Thursday welcomed Glenn McGrath and the Australia team and Glenn McGrath said: "I haven't had much time to reflect after 14 years or so.
"I've been lucky to be in an era of Australian cricket that is so strong."
Glenn McGrath announced had said he was going to retire whilst playing in the Ashes series, in which Australia defeated England 5-0.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard welcomed the country's cricket team back from the Caribbean at a breakfast reception and said with pride: "The wonderful Glenn McGrath ... really has been an ornament to Australian cricket for many years."
So all in all, Glenn McGrath has ended his cricket career in style.
