Australian bowler Stuart Clark out of Champions Trophy

stuart clark Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy because he has an injured thigh.

Stuart Clark, 31, got hurt playing club cricket last weekend and he has torn a muscle, which will take six weeks to heal up.

Australia has yet to name his replacement and Stuart Clark said: "It is very disappointing to get an injury right on the eve of an important tour.

"All I can do is look forward and commit myself to a full rehabilitation," Stuart Clark added and said that his main goal was to be fit enough for the Ashes - which start in Brisbane on 23 November.

Team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris explained: "The decision was made for him to stay in Australia and undergo treatment to maximise his chances of a full recovery before the 3 mobile Ashes series."

Stuart Clark has so far played four Tests and 18 one-day internationals for Australia.
