Australia cricketer Shaun Tait unsure of his future
Australian cricketer Shaun Tait is having doubts about his ability to ever play cricket again due to chronic elbow problems, and he has pulled out of the Australian team for the first Test against Sri Lanka, which begins on Thursday.
Shaun Tait, 24, had an operation in June but scans have now shown blood and fluid have accumulated in his troublesome right elbow and are causing trouble again.
Shaun Tait is quoted in The Australian as saying: "I have spent five months trying to get back for the first Test, so it's disappointing."
Shaun Tait was one of the stars of the World Cup back in the spring, but he has played only one first-class match in the ongoing season.
Shaun Tait explained: "I have had a couple of injections so I can't really feel it. We'll see how we go in the next week or so."
Shaun Tait has been replaced in the Australia team by Tasmania fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus.
