Subaru's Petter Solberg aims to end Sebastien Loeb's winning streak
Subaru's Petter Solberg is aiming to end Sebastien Loeb's winning streak at the Rally of Italy this weekend and confident he can do it.
Sebastien Loeb has been winner of the last four rallies on the championship calendar and will be coming to Sardinia as defending champion.
"We're getting there," said Petter Solberg. "We tested in Greece last week and we're making small steps in performance plus reliability is improving.
"We have to prove now that when everything goes well, we can win - we need to win."
The Norwegian rally driver finished second in Argentina last month and is sure he can improve on his runners-up spot in Sardinia 12 months ago.
Sebastien Loeb is now all of 21 points clear of his closest rival Marcus Gronholm in the championship standings and 38 clear of Petter Solberg and the Frenchman is confident a "fight for a win is possible".
