Sebastien Loeb wins at the Rally of Mexico
French world champion driver Sebastien Loeb has made his first triumph of the season with a win at the Rally of Mexico.
Driving a Citroen Xsara Sebastien Loeb was in the lead from Norwegian
Petter Solberg on the second day of the rally and he won Sunday's three
stages.
Petter Solberg came in at second place, 48.9 seconds behind Sebastien
Loeb, and Manfred Stohl from Austria took third, nearly five minutes
behind the other drivers.
This victory has placed Sebastien Loeb at the top of the standings
after three rounds with 26 points, and five ahead of Marcus Gronholm.
Sebastien Loeb's new team Kronos also came top of the constructors'
championship with 34 points, three ahead of Marcus Gronholm's Ford.
"This is a great win because it's the first for the Kronos team," said Sebastien Loeb.
"I'm really happy. For Kronos, it's a big moment. This is a difficult rally and I lost a lot of time on the first day.
"It was also important to put an end to Gronholm's run of victories," Sebastien Loeb added.
