French racing driver Sebastien Loeb well on course for another win
World championship leader French racing driver Sebastien Loeb looks well on course for a sixth win in 10 races this season after the start of the Rally of Germany.
Sebastien Loeb, who finished second in the year's other three events, leads by 42.7 seconds from Citroen teammate the Spanish driver Daniel Sordo.
The highest-placed non-Citroen driver is Ford's Marcus Gronholm in fourth position, more than two minutes off the lead and Finn Toni Gardemeister is in third place in another Citroen.
Sebastien Loeb, who has won the German event for the last four years, won five of the day's eight stages, with Daniel Sordo taking the other three.
Marcus Gronholm, Sebastien Loeb's main opponent in the title race, ran into problems in the wet conditions in the afternoon and managed only 12th fastest after a moment on stage six and Petter Solberg, whose Subaru was repaired after a bad accident in Thursday's shakedown, was only in fifth, place in spite of running as high as third earlier in the morning.
