Ford's Marcus Gronholm leads at rainy Rally of New Zealand
Ford driver Marcus Gronholm extended his lead at the Rally of New Zealand when he won three of Saturday's six stages after gaining all five on day one.
Mikka Hirvonen is in second place, with Austrian Manfred Stohl leapfrogging Dani Sordo into third position in his Peugeot.
Marcus Gronholm took the opening stage of the day but he had to drive with care because the course was hit by heavy rain.
"It was a good day for us," Marcus Gronholm said and added: "It was not so nice in the morning with the heavy rain but in the afternoon it was OK."
Marcus Gronholm also took the ninth stage and capped the day with a win at the final stage of the day, a short super special.
Now Marcus Gronholm can clinch Ford's first manufacturers' title in 11 years if he wins again on Sunday.
