World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss plans his comeback

bayliss Australian motorcycle racer and World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss is planning to make his return to sport by racing in Valencia in Spain on 13 April.

Troy Bayliss has recently had part of his finger amputated after he trapped it under his handlebars in a crash during Sunday's European Grand Prix at Donington. Troy Bayliss was rushed to Derbyshire Royal Infirmary where the top two bones in the injured finger were removed.

Troy Bayliss is currently recovering in Monte Carlo but will have medical checks before being given the go-ahead to race again.

Troy Bayliss said optimistically: "I feel I can get on a motorbike but I won't know until I do.

"Things are coming along OK and I've still got plenty of days to recover.

"I'm confident I'm going to be fine for Valencia and hopefully in just a week and a half you'll see the usual Troy."
