Superbike rider James Toseland to race for Yamaha
World Superbike rider James Toseland has decided that he will be racing for Yamaha's Tech 3 team in the MotoGP championship in 2008.
Ten Kate Honda motorbike rider James Toseland, 26, is well aware it will be a "massive gamble" but he is willing to accept the challenge, and says he will have achieved all he can in Superbikes if he claims a second world title this year.
James Toseland said: "The easy choice was to stay and be competitive in Superbikes. I could continue that, no problem,"
James Toseland added: "It was a big decision to make but I want to see where I line up against the best in the business."
In the past, James Toseland had claimed that any possible move up to MotoGP would depend upon being offered a competitive ride.
And although James Toseland does not have past experience in any of the MotoGP categories, he is confident his Superbikes knowhow will make up for that.
