Motorbike rider Valentino Rossi approves of night race
Italian motorbike rider Valentino Rossi has said he approves of the first night race in the sport, which is being held in Qatar. The race begins on 9 March and is the first under floodlights to have been staged.
Following tests at the Losail circuit Valentino Rossi is happy with conditions.
Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi: "There was a lot of curiosity about this night test and I have to say that I am quite satisfied. I think they have made a great job with the lights and you can ride quite normally, as if it's day."
Valentino Rossi was happy with the night race but he had one suggestion and he also said: "Maybe it would be better to move this night race to a period when the temperature is a little bit higher, however, because at the moment it is very cold here."
The Qatar night race will be first grand prix, two or four wheeled, ever have been held at night.
