MotoGP rider Loris Capirossi is ready for the new season
Veteran Ducati MotoGP rider Loris Capirossi is looking forward to his 18th world championship motorcycling season.
Italian rider Loris Capirossi, 33, will be the third-oldest rider on the grid but he isn't worried about that although he joked that he felt like so much of a veteran that he has changed his nickname from Capirex to Capi-T Rex.
Loris Capirossi also said: "You have to train well but mentally it's easy - I love riding," and he added: "This is one of the most important years for me. We have a new bike, a new project and we all think good things about this year."
Loris Capirossi came third in the 2006 championship and knows he could have been higher than that.
In the race in Catalunya, Loris Capirossi was equal to Nicky Hayden for the lead fro the championship, but unfortunately he crashed in the first race.
Although Loris Capirossi managed to make a comeback to form and win in the Czech Republic and Japan, he didn't manage to catch up with Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi, and reflecting on this but optimistic about this year he said: "I still finished third so I just want to think about 2007 and to try my best for this one."
