MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams injured but plans to carry on
British motorcycle road racer Jeremy McWilliams who is riding in the MotoGP series had to miss the second day of testing in Qatar on Wednesday because he had hurt himself after coming off his motorbike.
Belfast-born Jeremy McWilliams, 42, remains the only British motorcycle rider to win a race or pole in any World Championship class in the 2000s but his career has been hampered recently by injuries.
Jeremy McWilliams had made a comeback to the track on Tuesday for the first time since he had broken his left femur and collarbone and had injured his hand in November 2006.
But unfortunately he had the accident, which has once again stopped him riding and Jeremy McWilliams explained in Motorcycle News:"There was a sudden surge of power at the hairpin and it kicked me in the air."
And Jeremy McWilliams added: "For a minute I thought I'd broken the leg again. I'm surprised people couldn't hear me scream."
Jeremy McWilliams was forced to be using crutches after he came off his bike, but, undaunted, he plans to carry on and be back on the track for the final day on Thursday.
