Ducati rider Sete Gibernau out of Czech MotoGP due to injury
Ducati rider Sete Gibernau has had to pull out of this weekend's Czech MotoGP in Brno because he has still not fully recovered from his broken collarbone.
Spanish rider Sete Gibernau made a two-race comeback after he suffered the injury at the Catalan Grand Prix in June, but a doctor said he was still not fit to race.
Alex Hofmann, who replaced Sete Gibernau at the Dutch and British Grands Prix, will stand in for him once again and all going well, Gibernau should be recovered well enough to return in Malaysia on 10 September.
Sete Gibernau, who is 13th in the championship standings, said he was focusing on ensuring that he would be as competitive as possible when he was well enough to race again.
"We decided that the best way forward is for me to continue my recovery, because the most important thing is that I return to racing in the best possible condition, rather than just to make up the numbers," Sete Gibernau said.
"My team have treated me like family since I first joined them, which is something I appreciate very much, especially during difficult moments like these," Sete Gibernau added.
